This is UCM's largest single-day community food drive. In 2016, we received 15,000+ pounds -- the equivalent of more than 15 "average" single-day grocery store food drives!
How does Scouting For Food happen for 2017?
- On Sat., Nov. 5, local Cub Scouts distribute event flyers and plastic bags to area residences across the region.
- Then, on the morning of Sat., Nov. 11, Scouts return to neighborhoods to pick up the bags, now filled with food donations from community members. Collected food is distributed that day by the Scouts to UCM and other local food pantries.
Call for Volunteers!
Volunteers are needed on Sat., Nov. 11 at our main office to help sort and organize the food. We need scores of volunteers of all ages on site from 10 am to 4 pm. Groups of all ages welcome (under age 14 with at least 1 supervising adult).
Register to volunteer for a 2-hour time slot at the UCM Signup Genius site >>
If you have questions or would like to volunteer on Sat., Nov. 11: email UCM Volunteer Coordinator Danica at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for helping!
