The Progreso Center for Literacy and Citizenship empowers immigrants through education, citizenship services, and immigration assistance services.
At Progreso, we open doors for our fellow community members by helping them acquire the skills and resources they need to succeed. We provide semester-long English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for adult learners of all language levels.
All ESL Classes are 1.5 hours long, twice a week and are held in both daytime and evening sessions. Each class has up to 15 students and is taught by a trained volunteer. Students have opportunities to further develop their English proficiency in open "English Conversation Classes". In addition, our Center has a fully outfitted computer lab for students who don’t have access to technology or Wi-Fi in their homes.
All ESL Classes have a modest registration fee of $70 per semester that covers workbooks and other materials. English Conversation classes are free and open to the public.
For more information or to register for a class, please call 703-799-8830 or email email@example.com
Paving A Path to Citizenship
Progreso is also dedicated to helping those on the path to U.S. Citizenship. In addition to ESL classes, we offer citizenship classes that are designed to prepare students for the US Citizenship Exam and Oral Interview.
We have an immigration consultant on staff to help clients with immigration-related legal issues including asylum, green cards, TPS, family petitions, and citizenship applications. For an appointment with our immigration consultant, please call 703-799-8830 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Clients must make an appointment to meet with our immigration attorney.
Progreso is also proud to partner with The Women’s Center -- one of the region’s largest mental health institutions -- to provide support for victims of domestic violence and abuse.
