Empowering Families to Achieve Their Goals
The Family Achievement Program (FAP) helps families in Fairfax County whose household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) build pathways to self-sufficiency.
Through one-on-one coaching, case management, and wraparound support, we help individuals develop new skills, overcome barriers, and create steady momentum toward long-term success..
Whether someone is seeking stable housing, pursuing job training, or balancing childcare and work, FAP connects them to family resources that turn challenges into opportunities.
How the Family Achievement Program Helps
Personalized Coaching & Case Management
Recognizing that every journey is unique, United Community tailors support to meet individual needs. Employment is seen not as the final destination, but as one important milestone on the path toward lasting self-sufficiency, dignity, and economic freedom.
Coaches or case managers work one-on-one with families to assess needs, set goals, and provide guidance in education, employment, and financial literacy while connecting them to community resources.
Workforce Development & Job Training
Meaningful work opens doors to financial independence and personal fulfillment.
United Community partners with local employers, training providers, and community colleges to offer professional skill-building, industry certifications, and direct job placements. Our program helps participants build pathways that lead to lasting financial stability and career advancement.
Childcare & Family Resources
FAP connects families to trusted family resources, including childcare, food assistance, healthcare referrals, and financial literacy programs that strengthen household stability.

“I would recommend to everyone that the ELC is not just the normal childcare center, it is a place where they see the children as their own. A place where no child is treated differently because of skin color or economic status.”
