During the 2025–26 hockey season, Burke & Herbert Bank selected United Community as the recipient of its Goals for Good program — turning every Washington Capitals goal into an investment in our community.
In partnership with Monumental Sports, Burke & Herbert donated $100 for every Capitals goal scored this season, resulting in an incredible $26,100 to support United Community’s mission. Since the program began 11 years ago, Burke & Herbert has contributed more than $280,000 to organizations making a difference across Northern Virginia.

United Community is expanding access to food, childcare, literacy and citizenship classes, and workforce development programs that open pathways to lasting self-sufficiency for those experiencing or at risk of poverty. Each goal on the ice brings us one step closer to a stronger community—one goal, one family, one future at a time.”
Throughout the season, United Community staff, supporters, and community members cheered on the Capitals at games across the region, rallying behind both our hometown team and the impact each goal would make for local families. At the final game of the season, United Community CEO Leah Fraley and board member King Laughlin joined Burke & Herbert Bank on the ice to celebrate the success of the partnership and the collective impact it will have throughout our community.
