Most classes are offered at very low cost. Progreso offers flexible scheduling of ESL classes and affordable fees on a sliding scale not to exceed $60 per semester, including textbooks and online curriculum. We also offer a fee waiver for those who are disabled and/or homeless.

ESL classes are 1 ½ hours long twice a week and are held in both daytime and evening sessions.

Our staff attorney and pro bono partners assist with immigration paperwork, work permits, family reunification, housing concerns, safety issues, and other civil legal needs. If we cannot help directly, we connect you to trusted partners who can.

To apply for citizenship, most applicants need a green card, proof of continuous residence, tax records, and other identity documents. Our team can help explain what’s required and guide you through each step of the application.

The citizenship test includes an English reading/writing component and a civics test with questions about U.S. history and government. We offer classes, study materials, and practice interviews to help you feel confident and prepared.

We help learners at all levels — from beginner to advanced — build the skills needed to talk to teachers, employers, healthcare providers, and neighbors with confidence.

Conversation classes are taught by 16 trained volunteers, most of whom are retired teachers.

Progreso uses the Ventures adult curriculum which Aligns with the new National Reporting System (NRS) for Adult Education descriptors while covering key English Language Proficiency, College and Career Readiness Standards, and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requirements.
