Volunteer
Give Time. Grow Impact. Transform Lives.
At United Community, volunteers are the heart of our mission. Every hour you give, every hand you lend, helps families along the Route 1 corridor and throughout Fairfax County move from crisis to stability and from surviving to thriving. By donating your time, you help reduce operational costs, allowing more resources to go directly toward programs that feed, educate, and empower our neighbors in need.
Together, we create a stronger, more connected community where every neighbor has the opportunity to thrive (or transform lives).
Current Volunteer Needs:
Share your time and talents where they’re needed most. From sorting food and packing produce to assisting in our Early Learning Center or helping at community events—there’s a role for every interest and schedule.
Corporate teams, faith-based groups, and community organizations are welcome!
Group volunteer days offer a powerful way to build teamwork, give back, and make a visible impact together. Projects can be customized to match your group’s size and goals.
How to Become a Volunteer:
2.
Once approved, you will be contacted within two weeks with volunteer orientation information and to schedule your first activity.
3.
At your first volunteer activity, a United Community staff member will greet you with a welcome packet and introduce you to the program staff who will train you and work with you.
4.
After your first activity, a staff member will reach out talk about your experience and provide information about volunteer for additional opportunities.
