In Memoriam Nathaniel Wilson

United Community mourns the loss of our friend and Board Governance Chair, Nathaniel Wilson.

Nathaniel Wilson, affectionately known as “Nate”, found great joy in serving his community. In 2018 he served on United Community’s 50th anniversary committee and joined our Board. His love of service led him to join many organizations, becoming a member of the Prince Hall Free & Accepted Mason, serving as the past Vice President, President, and Chairman of the Mt. Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Quantico/Belvoir Regional Business Alliance, and President and Founder of Just in Time Community Development Corporation. He believed that service to others was a sacred duty.

Nate was a lifelong learner who believed in the power of education to transform lives. He knew that education was a gift that could never be taken away and that the pursuit of knowledge was a lifelong journey. He sought to help others along that journey serving as an adjunct professor at Central Texas College and Webster University for the past three decades.

He was a man of faith, a passionate and loving soul who lived his life with kindness, compassion, and grace. He will be deeply missed by everyone at United Community.
