Scouting for Food Brings In Over 12,000 Pounds

On Saturday, November 12, Scouts from nine different troops across the community delivered to United Community non-perishable food items that they collected that morning from area homes. This is an annual event led by the Boy Scouts of America to help local food pantries. Dozens of volunteers weighed and sorted the item, and at the end of the day, 12,680 pounds of food were donated to United Community. These items will soon be distributed to area families as part of our regular food assistance program. We are grateful to the donors and volunteers who helped make Scouting for Food so successful.
